Start of Operation: Ground Clean Up, 4th July

Public Meeting, 9th July, Penydarren Club. 7.30pm

Swansea 5k Run, 14th July

Day At The Races, 18th July
The summer project to get the ground into excellent shape ready for the new season started earlier this week with the work on pitch kicking off Operation: Ground Clean Up which will continue this weekend with preperation work on the terracing areas taking place this weekend. Volunteers are advised to be at the ground from 10am, all help would be welcome.

Earlier indications from the FA stated that we would be expelled from their cup competitions (FA Cup and FA Trophy) due to unlodged accounts to Companies House.

Due to the hard work of the Save The Martyrs campaign team and the payment of outstanding debts and fees to the FA (and FAW) we have now been accepted into the competitions.

The draws for the competitions are as follows:

FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round:

Taunton Town or Bishop Sutton or Bodmin Town v Merthyr Tydfil

This will be played 12th September

FA Trophy 1st Round:

Merthyr Tydfil v Marlow

This will be played 17th October

Following a meeting between the Administrator of Merthyr Tydfil Football Club and officials of the Southern League, the Administrator, Mr Mark Bowen of MB Insolvency has agreed in principle to grant a license to the Merthyr Tydfil FC Supporters Society (The Trust) to manage the football club's activities during the coming months while the process of administration continues. It is hoped that the license will be granted in the next week or so.

In the meantime Trust members continue to prepare for the coming season.

Garry Shephard, Danny Carter and the rest of the coaching team have put in a great deal of work already into putting a squad together for the coming season.

There are also plans for a clean up exercise at Penydarren Park on Saturday July 4th. More details will be available soon.

There is a small army of other people working behind the scenes on other projects, including the very important matter of fund raising, more details of which will emerge shortly.
