Andrew Delve
Goalkeeper
Andrew hails from Newport and spent most of his formative years at his local club Newport County where he came through the ranks before making regular appearances in therithen S outhern League side. Andrew agreed to join Merthyr in September last season and immediately embarked upon an 8 match winning run that saw Merthyr jump into the top to of the Division. Following a very short stint at Gloucester City at the end of last season Andrew returned to the club in the summer.
Ryan Griffiths
Goalkeeper
Ryan is another product of Merthyr’s successful youth policy and lives in nearby Aberdare. Ryan made his Southern League debut in the 2007/08 season and last season made a big contribution to the club’s fine 7th place finish in the Southern League Premier Division, duputising for Andrew Delve.
Paul Keddle
Defender
Captain
Paul joined Merthyr from Brecon Corries back in 2002 and became a firm favourite with the fans immediately. He was also part of the Southern League Western Division Championship side in his first season and following a number of seasons at the club spent some time at Bath City, Carmarthen Town and subsequently Newport County from whom he joined Merthyr in August of 2008. Paul has been named club captain for the 2009/2010 season.
Jamie Rewbury
Defender
Jamie was with Cardiff City and Swansea City as a youngster and almost joined Merthyr 12 months before he actually did in the summer of 2006. The lure of full-time football at Llanelli AFC pursuaded Jamie to reject Merthyr's first attempt at signing the defender but 12 months later The Martyrs finally got their man. Jamie is able to play in Midfield or Defence and has represented the Wales Under 23 Semi Pro side.
Andrew Thomas
Defender
Andrew was born in Newport and joined his home town club after coming through the youth ranks at the club. Following a number of seasons at Spytty Park Andrew left Newport to join Tiverton Town. In the summer of 2007 Andrew was pursuaded to join Merthyr and has become a pivotal part of the Merthyr defence in recent seasons.
Lee Hartshorn
Defender
Lee joined The Martyrs from Welsh League outfit Merthyr Saints during 2008 and immediately made an impact. Last season Lee established himself in The Martyrs central defence scoring a number of important goals in a fine campaign.
Matthew Driscoll
Defender
Merthyr born Matthew first came to the attention of The Martyrs during his time in the club's youth set-up. However, after leaving Penydarren Park to play Welsh League football Matt eventually found his way to fellow Southern League outfit Clevedon Town. Matt re-joined Merthyr durin g last season from The Seasiders
Gareth Wharton

Ross Porter
Defender
Ross progressed through the Merthyr youth system before making his Southern League debut at the age of 17 in season 2007/08. He has had a spell at Treharris Athletic last season before rejoining Merthyr in April of this year.
Simon Gregory
Defender
Shewsbury born, Simon joined Merthyr from University side UWIC during the summer of 2009. Has also played for AFC Telford.
